While waiting to get through the Bag and Shoe Circus @ IAD the other day, I couldn't help have the following thought pop through my head while listening to the loudspeaker iterate over the list of prohibited items for the bazillionth time.
"The following are restricted items:Knives, guns, explosives, mace, pointed sticks, fresh fruit, grapes, elderberries, quinces, pomegranates, bananas, tigers...."

IIRC, Mexicans call pomegranites grenadas (essentially, grenades) because all the little seeds look like buckshot on the inside. So based on that name alone, pomegranites would have to be banned because they could be confused with an explosive.
