Not detained by the TSA. No fun.
Earlier this week I flew with a carry-on containing
- Several really sharp point metal tweezers
- Replacement tips for ceramic tweezers
- Circuit boards
- Metallic anti-static bags
- Loose cables
- Misc. parts (screws, mirrors, small silicon wafers).
- Lots of bubble wrap and boxes
- A ziplock with hundreds of quarters, loose and in rolls.
- My freedom baggie that I forgot to remove.
Boy was I ready for trouble. Especially after bumping the WTMD on the first pass. But wait, nothing.
NO BAG CHECK! What the? People who knew what was in my bag couldnt believe it.
The person behind me got his regular sized toothpaste tube confiscated, though it was obvious that less than 3 fluid oz. were left. Even my sarcastic comment to him & the TSA person about clean teeth being a threat to security didnt do anything.

Did your shirt have Arabic writing on it? Was your belt buckle made out of an old hand grenade? Please try harder next time!

i frequently travel with a hard sided halliburton roller fillled with electronics; wires, plugs, radio frequency transmitter black boxes, and handheld receivers.
It looks ominous, and I've never had a lick of trouble. I've never had it swabbed for explosives in the 25+ times I've travelled with it and most screeners don't even ask what's in the bag.
However, when I carry vitamins in my carry-on they're all over me.
I don't trust the TSA to idnetify and isolate real threats. They're just for show.
