PIC Unable to get in to Cockpit

Don't know if this old news as I remember a story similar a while back but in case it is not.....

CANUCK AVIATION ACTIVITIES II: The pilot of an Air Canada Jazz flight
from Ottawa to Winnipeg stepped out 20 minutes from Winnipeg to go to
the restroom. When he finished, he found he was locked out of the
cockpit and couldn't get back in to land the plane. Passengers watched
as the captain banged on the cockpit door for 10 minutes, but
apparently neither the first officer nor the flight attendant in the
cockpit with him could get the door open. The pilot finally took the
door off its hinges in time to land the plane. Air Canada admitted the
incident did occur, but said that a pilot lockout is a "non-reportable
incident" that doesn't have to be reported to Transport Canada. (Ottawa
Citizen) ...Don't worry: the next terrorist that tries taking the
cockpit door off its hinges won't bother to report it either.

This is old news, but still funny. It happened in late August or early September. I mentioned it to a JAZZ pilot a couple days after the story broke, he said they've been joking and giving the crew hell about it and said better them than him.

I thought it was but did not wnat anyone to miss it:-)
Meanwhiel a pilot friend of mine related an old story before the days of fort knox(ish) cockpits.
Pilot at back chatting
Second in commmand decides he will whip out to the restroom whiel plane on autopilot. Steps out and hooks the cockpit door open with bungee cord or elastic.
He is in restroom and plane hits small pocket of turbulence. Door slams shut locking both pilots out......
Pause - switch to shot of terrified face of SIC jumping out of restroom and PIC charging down the aisle with the fir axe and breakign downt he door to get back into cockpit....
:-)
Not verified - but it did come from a pilot and even if not true I thoguth pretty funny....
