Vote for sane security
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/14807713/
In this article, being discussed in this thread: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=601200 There is a chance to "vote" if the new restrictions are going too far.
Please consider voteing and giving the WP a big ^ for writing an article that points out that the new rules are only for show and do nothing for real security.
A great quote from the article: "Gary Boettcher, a pilot and president of the Coalition for Airline Pilots Association, a trade group that closely tracks security issues, said he constantly sees people drinking from illicit bottles of water or putting on lip gloss when he walks through the passenger cabin. Most of the time, he said, it doesn't bother him.
"They are just doing their routines like they always did," Boettcher said. "An old woman drinking a bottle of water doesn't concern me. . . . The whole screening process is a facade to make the public feel safe, to show that the government is doing something."

31% is not far off the mark...I cast my vote. Let's get some votes in to pump that 31% up and make it a closer race.

That WaPost story brings the shocking news that folks have figured out how to smuggle lip gloss.
Oh, the horror. Where will it stop.
At toothpaste?
I just hope that the hidden terrorists looming on each flight don't manage to get hold of her cosmetics case. They might make themselves pretty.
