Joe Foss, a WWII fighter ace, had one of his medals confiscated just after 9/11/01. BTW, the airport in Sioux Falls, South Dakota is named after Joe Foss. I guess he planned to be a terrorist since 1942-1945

You know terrorists are VERY patient, right? This guy could have been planning for 60 years ...

In the eyes of the Japanese, he was a terrorist during World War 2...... maybe he should be thrown into jail for carrying the medal of the enemy. Hrm...

I think I need to stop watching SciFi films involving time travel.

Then the terrorists will simply swallow what they need to make a bomb. They could have the components combine automatically in their gut. To be safe, TSA should make passengers check in a day early to assure that no terrorist is concealing anything anywhere in their entire digestive tract. Colonoscopies for all. :D

Seriously, there is no way to protect from everything. The terrorists are looking to use any holes in the security. Air cargo is not checked and could cause a major accident, but nothing has been done to address such issues. After a certain level of safety is assured, there are always risks in anything one does. There are no assurances about anything.

It's too bad the rest of America doesn't believe you.

Preaching to the choir. Perhaps TSA will administer enemas to passengers before stripping them, sedating them, and then binding them to prevent disturbances from passengers. Of course, there is still the issue of cargo, but passengers do not see that, so who cares...

A little OT here, but why hasn't there been a major accident with air cargo?

Luck, Divine Providence, Islamic wacko terrorists who try to hatch Wile E. Coyote-type suicide plots instead of straightforward cargo bombs,...

Take your pick. I have a horrible feeling it is just a matter of time before a plane is destroyed this way.

Actually, there was an accident involving air cargo....
the ValuJet aircraft that crashed into the Florida Everglades some
years back. I believe there were oxygen cannisters that caught
fire in the cargo hold, causing smoke to fill the cockpit and led
to the crash of the aircraft. Not a terrorist act, but an air disaster
nonetheless.

All pens have been banned for passage through all security checkpoints in the UK since August 10 due to liquid ink. No, I'm not joking.

They should also ban all glass products, since it's technically a liquid as well.

Problem solved!!! no human element.. and little risk.
:p

Didn't Bush advocate remote controls that could be used to take over flying a plane in the days after 9/11?
