ABQ security lines

I have a 6AM flight tomorrow. Don't want to get there at 4 if I don't have to. Anyone been through the lines at Albuquerque in the last day or so?

I flew out on Sunday. I was on the 3pm AA flight to DFW. No big difference than any of the last 50+ weeks I've flown, except that my bag got a second xray visit. Yes, I did have to remove my shoes, but, since my shoes have steel shanks in them, I do that every week, anyways.

No secondary screening, at all. Plus, since you're flying midweek, I'd say that you should stay with a normal arrival time. If you preprint your boarding pass, 1 hour should be enough.

If you're on the 0600 DL flight as we were on Thursday when the restrictions went into effect, don't worry about the security line, worry more about the line at the ticket counter if you're checking anything. Luckily when we arrived at 0515 there was an agent calling out for people on our flight and took us to the head of the queue. ABQ wasn't doing the liquids screening at the time but I think the security line took all of 6 minutes for most people.

Let's just say too that the new revolving doors leading from the screening area and from airside to landside are more of a big PIA than anything else at that airport!!! It's funny to see the people who are afraid of the swift-moving doors hit the button to slow it down causing the hurried traveler in the doorway bangs his nose when the door slows to a crawl so he starts pushing to make the door speed up only to have the door STOP in place for about 5-10 seconds!

They should have used the exit archway design like at ONT. Cameras and motion sensors detect and sound a VERY LOUD klaxon should anyone (including an overexcited 4-year old running to see her daddy) run into the sterile area through the exit.
