Has anyone used the TSA approved Brookstone combination locks. Have just purchased a set and was assured that the TSA would open luggage with the key they have been supplied with. Anyone found any different?

I wouldn't trust this lock anymore than I do the TSA or baggage handlers. If TSA has a key, so does everyone else that wants in your bag. I use the baggage ties, a much better way to go. It's that extra bit of effort someone would have to go through to get into the bag ... that's about all we can hope for these days.

I have had the TSA cut one of these locks off before. My MIL had a bag basically destroyed when they ripped the zipper apart rather than opening the TSA lock.
I guess they are better than nothing, but until they effectively train everyone at the TSA on how to open them, the don't always work all that well.
