There are different kinds of deportees - I was deported once from Turkey for giving a requested New Testament to the wrong official's daughter! I promise I was a very calm and safe passenger. :-)

Where that's a crime or a violation of visa status, that'll result in deportation too.

Had this once on an 06:20 flight from LHR-CDG. The plane was at a remote stand and our bus waited while a car drove up and two officers basically dragged a woman on board to be deported to Paris (she didn't sound French, rather West African, and I assume she was being sent back to the country she entered the UK from). She and an officer sat at the back of the plane and she kicked up a massive racket for the whole of boarding. She loudly claimed that she was being variously physically/mentally/racially/sexually abused by the escorting officers, that the plane would crash and we all were going to die as well as random loud noises when she ran out of things to say.

Oddly enough, she shut right up as soon was it became clear we were about to take off - almost as if she had been trying to get herself offloaded (which of course she probably would have been if a regular pax)

Cool! Good for you. Now that's a reason for deportation to be proud of.

Turkey, huh? I didn't know they were "one of those" places that goes nuts over such things. It's a shame repressive governments still exist in this day and age.

Happens quite a lot on flights from BRU to Africa. Some of you might remember the tragic incident of Semira Adamu. It then raised the question of passenger's ability to re-book on another flight where no one is forced to travel accompanied by armed policemen.

Cant say I have ever been on a flight when other people are being deported, I can tell you I was on a flight 10 years ago from Miami to Irelan whenn I was being deported. Nothing like being marched up an already full plane in handcuffs to scare the crap out of people. The poor woman sat next to me didnt know what to think.
