LAS violating SSI!
Take a look at http://www.mccarran.com/traveltips1.asp and click the traveler t.i.p.s. button on the left. All the videos are pretty funny, but take a look at the one about shoes.

I like these videos! I wonder if there's any way we can have them playing on our plasma screen at the checkpoint. They're entertaining and informative; helps pass the time while waiting in line. Reminds me of the Wayne's World tape played at one of the theme parks with Michael Meyers giving out some tidbits ("Dude, it's called the Hurler for a reason, so if you're gonna hurl, be considerate of others.")

Amusing, but these have inconsistencies. One I noticed is in the "Keys and Items" video. After he divests himself of all metal objects, he then walks through the WTMD with a sport coat on, which is directly in contradiction of the "Coats and Outerwear" video.
The "Electronics Devices" says that all cameras must be x-rayed. Well that is not true if you want to have a film camera hand-screened.
The "Laptop Computers" video shows the passengers walking through the WTMD prior to their laptop starting to go through the x-ray -- something I would never do.
And of course the "Footwear" video discloses SSI. This is great info when a TSO asks how I could possibly know SSI. That and the fact that Hatfield told the world as well.

My company designed and installed the hardware/software for the TIPS System at LAS, which was purchased by the LAS Airport Authority. However the Airport generates and controls the content of what is displayed, with TSA review and approval.
