SSSSd going and coming....

OK, sorry for another SSSS thread.

I'm just having lousy luck with it this year as I am 3/6. 1 of those was on an AE codeshare out of SBA (Santa Barbara CA), and for some reason I get SSSSd with some regularity at SBA.

But on Mother's Day weekend, I flew HSV-ATL-TPA and back and got SSSSd at HSV and at TPA!

The only thing I can come up with is that I always check luggage ("travel light" is not in my vocabulary), and I did not check anything at either airport.

Does anybody have any insight or comments?

Thanks!
David

Maybe it's because you used your Skymiles to subscribe to those Osama Bin-Laden fan magazines?

You're tagged as an SSSS even before you're given the option of checking your luggage.

You're not paying cash for your flights, are you?

Buying one-ways? Or same ticket, with each direction on a different carrier?

Buying last-second?

Any other unusual purchasing characteristics?

1) Paid via Delta Amex CC.
2) Round trip, all on Delta
3) Purchased several weeks in advance. Even the upgrades cleared five days out.

And I fly a lot on Delta metal, as is obvious from my status with them.

I'm just totally puzzled. Once would be the luck of the draw, but twice is odd. Departing equipment was a nearly full MD-88 and returning equipment was a nearly full 757. So it wasn't that I got picked out of a nearly empty plane.....

Thanks for any help - David

Quick question: you got "SSSSed going and coming..."

So, are you okay with "going" again? Even given that SSSS is a possibility? If you are, I don't understand the point you may or may not be trying to make.
