TSA at LAS is at it again!

Well, well, I've had NO problems with my 3/4'' shoes at every airport I've been too except at the D gates at LAS. I was there yesterday at around 2:10 PM in lane 8. The screener was telling everyone to take off there shoes. I told him that they were 3/4'', less than the 1'' rule in the SOP. I walked through, and then he sent me to secondary. I asked for a complaint form and he told me to go to his supervisor. I got the wanding and everything, and then I went to get a complaint form. I told a supervisor what happened and he told me that they had "continuous" screening in which every whatever person was screened. I told him that I thought that wasn't the case here since I clearly was within the rules and automatically got sent there because I didn't take off my shoes. He then told me that he would get one for me, but he wanted my boarding pass and ID "so they know who's sending in the complaint". I gave him my Dutch passport, him not knowing that I'm a duel citizen, and made a copy of it, gave me the form, and sent me on my way. Now, who do I send this to? I've tried looking for addresses, but I can't find anything. Also, do I have to worry about anything after the fact that he copied my boarding pass and Dutch passport?

A Dutch passport is probably not going to cause any problem, but I resist giving the TSA any identification at all. The risk is probably small, but I don't want to end up on the don't-fly list because I challenged some jerk on a power-trip.

Be sure to give prominence to the he wanted my boarding pass and ID "so they know who's sending in the complaint" bit. This is an outrage and ought to be sufficient for immediate dismissal.
Which it won't be of course.

Yes, stress that you were intimidated into trying to get you not to complain.

A complaint form should be given out upon request, no questions asked.

Yeah, If someone who complaint against TSA were telling you about take shoes off. You have to do file complaint against the screeners. It is nothing best can do with these shoes. You can put the shoes on all the times when you were get through at the checkpoint. I don't have problems with the TSA screeners doesn't tell me about take off the shoes. While I was during the break time or after work into the concourse to look around at the gate area.

Thanks for the help guys! I've just sent out the complaint forms to all of the above addresses. I'm not too worried about being slapped on the no-fly list, so other then that, I'll update you when aka if I hear anything back!

Actually, it is not cause for immediate dismissal... We are required by upper management to complete an incident report with all information including the passengers information...

Is that in writing from upper management? How do you comply with the Privacy Act when you take the info from the passenger?

Sorry, doesn't sound like much of an "incident" to me. I would think that an incident would be something along the lines of a passenger using physical violence, not asking for a piece of paper. Sounds more like attempted intimidation of a passenger to try and prevent him from getting a complaint form.

B*LLSH*T
Passengers' information is "required" when resolving an ETD alarm.
Passengers' information is NOT required simply for requesting a complaint form.
Guess you're part of The Problem

This is also what I was told when I complained about the shoe carnival at OAK and asked for the supervisor's info. Definitely an attempt to intimidate the passenger as nobody wants to be permanently added to the dreaded SSSS list.

Fortunately that did not occur as I have since flown from OAK on the same airline without being hassled.

Sounds like the same supervisor I dealt with at the D gates last month.

I e-mailed a complaint to the TSA twice weeks ago and haven't heard anything yet. I guess I need to try again.
