Having fun with security...
Coming home from Switzerland the other night, I found an amusing array situation.
Seated in business on 767, right side. These planes are craftily designed so that both lavs are on the left. This means that you have to crossover through the galley or over the legs of passengers in the middle section.
I was crossing over from the "unsecured" right side to left through the galley when I encountered an FA blocking the right side aisle with a food cart to make the cockpit "secure" while one of the flight crew was returning from the lav.
So there I was on the "wrong side" of the barrier with 100 lb. 55+ yo female FA, an open cockpit door ...
Sheepish grins from the flight crew member, from the FA and from me.
Finally I broke the silence by saying, "No worries, I think we are all used to smoke and mirror 'security' by now." Small embarassed laughs.
The FAX struggled with the food cart to let me through to the lav nearest the cabin.
When will the charade end? Sigh.
Best wishes,
