TSA Damage/Lost Items Baggage Claim

Does anyone else have a pending lost items or damaged baggage claim with the TSA? I filed a claim for two personal items which fell out of the outside zippers of my bag. I noticed after the past two times I flew that my luggage was obviously inspected out of my sight as most is before it is loaded on the plane, and that each time I got to my destination the zippers on the bags were not fully closed. As we are not present during such TSA inspections and locks are not allowed it breeds any number of scenarios for lost or stolen items. Just try to prove it.
I complained to Jet Blue upon arrival, and they said they assume no liability for any claims after 4 that is four hours upon arrival. They defer all claims to the TSA.
So I downloaded the form from the internet, provided the necessary cash register receipts for the two items which were in the unzipped outer compartment of my suitcase and called the TSA after two months. They said it was rather soon to get a determination, but that I had been assigned a claim number. If you go to the website it states that you will be contacted at some point. No directives or ways to follow up are given.
Has anyone out there ever gotten an answer from these mental giants in Washington? I would at least like to know if it takes up to six months for a reply let alone compensation. My claim is now going on 4 months pending with not so much as a letter of receipt.
It's nice to know at least some people have secure jobs in Washington. If agencies worked efficiently, they wouldn't have secure jobs!

Kiss off your money. The problem is that 2 organizations are touching your bags and each has its own crooks or incompetents (benefit of doubt). You see none of the action so each org takes advantage of that in pointing to the other for blame. In the good old days of airlines' providing their own security, they had to take responsibility but now neither TSA nor the airline will admit to a thing. I have had things stolen twice and in neither case would the airline or TSA compensate. I waited 6 months to hear from TSA! And I actually know Norm Mineta and sent him a copy of my claim.
