I went through security at MCO this morning (around 7 am). The line for Terminal A stretched all the way back to the food court! (Of course, there's also the entrance from the other side, the B ticketing side, which almost no one knew about and the line was much shorter) But at least the line was moving and took only 20 minutes. The funny thing was, after taking out my laptop and going through the metal detector, a TSA agent was looking through the bag of the person in front of me. He found a cig lighter and some kind of thing that looked like a miniature aerosol can to me, which I overheard the person explaining as a "torchlight". The TSA agent placed the two items in a bin, saying they were prohibited, and then went to the front of the X-ray to rescan the bag. While he was placing the bag at the other end of the X-ray, the person took the cig lighter and "torchlight" and placed both in his pockets. Another TSA agent removed all the bins from the area to replace at the front of the line. I wasn't sure if the TSA agent who found the two items originally remembered to ask where they were because I left then to catch the shuttle-train to the gates. Funny how security works.

You should be glad that no one called breach! You would have had to wait a lot longer. Torch lighters are those that have a series of jets in the head that cause the flame to get a lot hotter. They are not allowed on planes. Interestingly enough though is the fact that all compressed gas lighters are going to be banned in about 40 days.
