Color-Coded Red, Yellow and Green

This is so dumb! What if you get a red color coded, you missed the flight. What should you do with the plane tickets? Most tickets are NON REFUNDABLE. Should we sue the government for missing the flight and unable to use the ticket?

No, if you are Red you are not flying at all. It means you are on the "No-Fly List".

The way it looks, if you get colorcoded "red" just losing your ticket money might be the least of your worries. The next time you try to get credit, buy a house or whatever that little "red" code just might bring up flags. Don't worry though, Cendent is only asking the feds to allow it to keep the records for 50 YEARS.
No Problem.

Just like "David Nelson" and "Alexandra Hay," among others who have gotten "red" treatment since 9/11. Anyone with these names still has to get a LEO and fed background check to board an airplane every time they travel. Of course, the feds still deny it and try to blame the airlines as much as they can. Completely intolerable--these folks should file an en masse class action against the government and should be allowed to physically beat the scum that came up with that system.

CAPPS II will be infinitely worse, because since they plan to check state arrest warrants, if someone sharing your name (or a similar name) anywhere in the US is wanted for a crime, you may be detained, arrested, and/or denied boarding. Same could happen if "commercial marketing databases" have erroneous records on you. (Think of how much paper junkmail you get that has a slightly incorrect name or address spelling, and realize that those are the databases the feds want to use to verify your identity.)

Red really should be eliminated.

Passengers should not be detained unless there is something physically foudn on them during a search that would endanger the plane.

Travel tips:

Make enough people disgruntled and things 3will happen little by little here and there leading to something similar to the demise of the U.S.S.r. Unfortunately that may mean that some of us expecting to collect Social Security won't.

My cat has signed up for a lot of things on line lately. In response, she's gotten offers for credit cards and magazine subscriptions. She also got some junk mail from a dating service. Too bad -- she's only 3 and has already been "fixed." Think I'll enroll her in college -- on a full athletic scholarship, of course...

Maybe I'll even buy her a plane ticket and see what happens..

Good thinking. I think cats are probably OK but you may have to get it totally declawed (that "sharp object" TSA thingee). OTOH mosts cats are probably to young to need photo ID.
