Cane?

Cane?
Because of recent surgery I need to use a cane to walk long distances. I am able to walk short distances without any assistance. I want to bring my cane through security, does it just go through the x-ray machine? Or is it treated in some special way.? I am precheck if that makes any difference

I use a cane and also have Precheck. Mine is a metal cane, as most are. They put it through the xray and give me a wooden cane to go though the WTMD. They always ask if I can walk the few steps through on my own or if I need the wooden cane.
