How does Tripadvisor select its 10 (or 5) Best Safe Hotels in a place?

How does Tripadvisor select its 10 (or 5) Best Safe Hotels in a place?

I've come across a new ranking feature on Tripadvisor, and was wondering how it is compiled?

One can find rankings of the top 5 or 10 Safe Hotels in a community/area, but there is no clear criteria for how these are selected.

Is this a new feature on Tripadvisor, and what goes into its safety assessment?

Looks like TA is doing keyword filters as its first iteration, e.g. "including sexual assault, death, drugging, sex trafficking, armed robbery, and physical assault..." with machine learning algos as it gathers the data:
