I wear an Apple Watch, stainless steel version with the stainless steel band. I travel every week for work and never has it set off the alarm. I also am in the pre-check line.

That may be across the board in Australia. Sydney Airport also annoyingly beeps at watches too.

I generally don't have a problem at SYD, but do at MEL.

Older Rolex all metal, house keys in pocket, normal sized belt as well as metal support in shoes - not even a blip.
