ESTA Query
Hello,
I have my passport for 2 years and I have an ESTA since March for one week trip I made to the States. My signature has become illegible so I have been advised to renew my passport which is in process. I am going back to the states in 8 weeks and my new passport will come in 6. Now, I understand that I may have to get a new ESTA but I have to wait for my new passport. Is this correct? And could it cause problems that I was given an ESTA only a few months ago and now I'm asking again?
Thanks for any help

It is not a problem applying againg so soon, people do it all the time.
Just for timing, do it as soon as you get your new passport, as it can take a couple of days to go through.

You will have to wait until you get your new passport to apply for a new ESTA. And you will have to apply for a new ESTA, as the ESTA won't come up at check-in if you use a different passport with a different passport number.
