Taking whole oranges through security at DFW
I just received a bunch of fresh oranges and want to take half a dozen whole ones with me on the plane tomorrow from DFW to PHL.
Is there any likelihood that they will be confiscated?
Thanks.

Got a roulette wheel?
Maybe they will be fine. Maybe a TSA agent will say "that's too much liquid; you can only carry containers that are 3.4 ounce (100ml) bottle or less (by volume), and they must be in (the regulation "Freedom" or "Kipper" baggie). Going to Russia? Maybe confiscation, along with your toothpaste.
Given this is a Travel Safety and Security issue we will port this over to the proper forum for greater exposure and more informed input (we hope
). Good luck.

There is never any guarantee, but it will most likely be fine. I don't see oranges on the prohibited list of foods: http://www.tsa.gov/traveler-informat...-food-or-gifts

I've brought oranges out of Florida in carryons many times with no issues. They may be more used to it but never asked about them or had a bag check.

Shouldn't be any TSA issues and I don't think Pennsylvania is one of the states that gets anal about bringing in fruit.
