Integrated lock
Guys
I know TSA locks are as breakable as any other lock. However, does anybody have experience with the integrated 3-digit locks on suitcases? Just wondering if that should be a consideration in my next purchase
Thx

I like mine because the lock takes the zipper tabs into the lock body so there is nothing to snag in baggage handling.

I rarely used mine; when I finally did use it last year I arrived back in Nice and couldn't get suitcase open and had to cut the ends of the zipper pulls.
I noticed on the train today that the Tumi next to my suitcase had a TSA symbol next to the integrated lock, and a number which I assume was the key number to use. (I'm in France; TSA locks are extremely expensive in Europe, so I took note of the Tumi having an integrated lock)
But I suspect that TSA will cut those locks just as frequently as they do 'regular' locks, which means snipping the ends like I did on my suitcase.
Also, if it is an expandable suitcase those locks may not work if you use the expansion feature.

Each lasted about 3 or 4 flights until TSA ripped the pull tabs off the locking zipper.
Funny how my suitcases were always being opened and inspected (and the zipper pull tabs getting ripped off)...until I finally stopped replacing the pull tabs. Now, my bags apparently pose much less of a threat now that the pull tabs are gone. I haven't received one of those little TSA cards in my luggage in over a year. (maybe they stopped giving them out?
)Regardless, no pull tabs discourage thieves (and TSA) more than TSA locks...and I've pretty well perfected the art of 'tabless zipping'. If I'm feeling really security conscious, I'll run a little zip-tie through what's left of the zipper.
