SDOO at SLC?

Flying out of there for the first time tomorrow. Looks like there are MMWs placed on every line at every checkpoint. Is there anywhere I can SDOO, or is it all luck of the draw there?

I've only been through there a couple of times, but unless one of the body scanners (MMW) is down, doubtful. L-3 Communications, which makes the MMW devices, is literally 10 minutes away from SLC.

SDOO at "Terminal" 2

The right side of Terminal 2 - Delta - was WTMD only, at least until the Pre-Check started. Not sure what has happened since then.

At this point with precheck SDOO is not possible unless the far right side is open but that does not happen unless they are really busy. So PreCheck or scope and grope.

FYI, SDOO ended up being very easy. Aside from PreCheck, lanes 1 and 3 are MMW, and lanes 2 and 4 are WTMD. The priority lane dumps right into lane 1 and it's MMW, and despite there being a total of maybe 12-15 people going through, all four lanes were open. I just turned right into the central WTMD-only lane and was done with it.

Nice report. I'll be in SLC in a month or so. Let's hope it's that easy flying UA.

You can access any gate from any checkpoint. As long as the TDC doesn't send you to another checkpoint and the WTMD lanes are open, you should be good.

Always been a mixed bag going out of T1. Once, I was able to do a SDOO, but it cost me a good bit of time. Other times, they're 100% NoS, so I have to opt out.

I'd plan on having to opt out in T1 these days.
