TSA Back at Rail Stations

A while ago we read that TSA was banned from Amtrak property. Apparently TSA and Amtrak made a deal; TSA is back: http://tinyurl.com/6enrk2e

Now those who ride the rails can deal with uniformed government employees who demand travel papers, search belongings, take belongings (under threat of DY...T), give orders combined with threats, and bark. And let's not forget the few who steal, grope, and perform other crimes while at work.

It's just another day in the USA.

Tri-Rail and Amtrak are separate entities that share a railway. I believe the West Palm Beach station is SFRTA, not Amtrak. I could be wrong.

In any case, it still sucks that the TSA might be active anywhere.

(And you left "child porn" off your list.)

If they are there as LEOs, conducting themselves like other (good) LEOs, maybe with dogs, nobody really cares, other than it's probably a waste.

The issue is if they have the happy handed TSA screening clerks with them, attempting to set up secure areas, and groping people and making complete asses of themselves along with molesting citizens. That was the problem at Savannah.

Again, this isn't Amtrak.

Looks like the station is owned by the city, which is why this mission creep is allowed to occur, while at Savannah the station was Amtrak property.

+1

I'm sure the A.S.S's that assisted were mad that they could not carry a gun and hand cuffs, like the real police...

The people with the most security are in prison. Thats why its called MAXIMUM security.

The more security you have, the less freedom you have.

What a freaking waste of money!

"There is no credible information to suggest a specific threat at this time."

Oh, yes there is a specific threat. It's the TSA. Groping grandma and little girls isn't enough for these perverts, so they are looking for victims elsewhere. DO NOT COMPLY!

Comments seem to be back - here's another good one...

Those thugs at TSA are the only criminals I read about. They illegally detained passengers who were in no way posing any harm to anyone else. These thugs are the ones that should be thrown in jail.

Committing crimes for money is no excuse. "Just doing my job" is pathetic. So are murderers for hire and the mafia -- but we still prosecute those people. No different with these thugs. They should be locked up and the key thrown away forever.
