Political hogwash. "Educate". Yeh, right, everyone OUTSIDE TSA is so STUPID. They have meetings where they wring their hands and say "How can we EDUCATE those people?" Guess what guys. We who are protesting don't NEED your "educators". We need an end to your arrogance. Yesterday would be good for us.

Every time I hear or read something by one of their number, I am amazed how they can't open their mouths without find a new way to offend the public. Where did their parents fail in their upbringing?

You don't understand. TSA wants this education to be hands-on.

Uh-huh. I got that part. Plus, they want to "educate" us how we should be so GLAD of it.

TSA spokesman Nico Melendez tells The Associated Press his agency is looking at similar situations around the country where legislators have expressed concerns about security procedures. He says the TSA is looking for opportunities to educate but not negotiate security requirements.
This is the same tactic they have used on Members of Congress who have spoken out against the TSA. They run down to the Hill, conduct a re-education training session, and the Member's objections have disappeared. That has worked with everyone except Jason Chaffetz.

For Nico: Where are those Cancer Machine images of your family you were so willing to publish?

Hopefully followed by the sound of the clue train running over Pissy.

The TSA must have some amazing brainwashing techniques. Everyone they "educate" turns into a blithering idiot.

If they actually had anything resembling "security requirements," they could negotiate, but given the mishmash of irrelevant item restrictions, they've got nothing to negotiate with.

I just stopped by to post something very similar. Once TSA begins to negotiate, all their terrorist-busting procedures are "outed" as being scams and TSA is finished.

Making the statement that they won't negotiate is simply their opening position in a negotiation. And by the way, it is a position that signifies weakness on the TSA's part.

Real-ID proves they will negotiate, and compromise.

How so? I'm not familiar with compromises made regarding Real ID.

Real ID has been ditched and is now in limbo due to refusal of several states to implement and pay for it.

That success is what is emboldening the States going after the pat downs.

Maybe there is a ray of hope for the state bills lambasting pat-downs.:)

But the TSA does negotiate on security . . .

Seems the traveling public needs an advocate.

I think the passengers need to go on strike. Hit the airline in their pocketbook just right and you would see how fast TSA/DHS would tone down there treating every single passenger as a criminal.

Sounds like a good idea but there will always be a few passengers. If airline traffic gets down to 10 people, the TSA will just raise the per ticket security fee to $500 million cuz those ten people now have to pay for the whole TSA. Still at it's present size. You don't seriously think they would consider downsizing if air travel drops? That is not how government agencies work.

Lara21 Mar 25, 2011 3:31 pm

Very few passengers can afford to pay 500 million now. So maybe we should get TSA to go for that idea. They'd price their ownselves out of business.
