Rep. Cissna just stated that as a teenager she experienced "bad touch"! So not only is she dealing with being a breast cancer survivor, she's dealing with a previous sexual assault. The more this woman speaks, the more respect and admiration I have for her.
She is being calm, rational, blunt and is pulling no punches.

Glad she mentioned the issues with medical patients flying to and from Alaska for care. I work in southeast Alaska, where we don't have specialists on a regular basis, and several patients have to go either to Anchorage or Seattle for care.
(also, see the post about the poor lady with mesothelioma posted by her cousin--so sad)

The speaker following Jackson-Lee at least brought it back that we need a balance for ALL people.
Ms. Cissna ended on a strong note IMO. She commented as to how many people have indicated that they've lost trust in the gov't thanks to the TSA's actions and what this lack of trust will do to democracy, etc. Amen and thank you, Ms. Cissna.

Often, you can just watch the entire proceeding later via the Oversight's website or CSPAN. I can't imagine CSPAN won't have it on their website for later viewing.

That she is! I sent her a letter after that statement and have not received a response, not that I expect it from such a mental defective like her. Just another politician that should see the gallows.

And now, McCaskill is being investigated regarding her use of private charter flights, on her own aircraft at the governments expense.
“Sen. McCaskill is interested in three things when it comes to using a charter plane to travel in Missouri: doing it as cheaply as possible, following the letter of the law, and doing it as rarely as possible.."
And the other added bonus of getting to avoid "love pats" during her travel. I say get the rope.

Everyone can see there's a problem here with what TSA is doing. Everyone who flies can see it and feel it, if not be felt BY it.
I was encouraged by those I expected to back TSA.

what I found encouraging on the subcommittee, was that TSA didn't have a lot of whole-hearted support for TSA. Congressman Cummings, who came out with the standard line "security on the aircraft, but also safeguard privacy and rights" was visibly impacted by Cissna's statements and said so. He said "Nobody needs to go through that". He also said there was a problem with treating the millions upon millions of passengers as if they were already suspected of terrorism.

I liken it to substance abuse, the last one to fess up is the abuser and TSA is certainly abusing the public.
