TSA officer charged with impersonating police officer during Roselle Park traffic stop Quote: A Transportation Security Administration supervisor assigned to Newark Liberty International Airport was arrested last week on charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer, after authorities say he told a Roselle Park patrolman who had pulled him over that he was a cop, too. I'm loving' it! |

It is a big deal by illustrating the quality of TSA employees.

Criminal activity of TSA employees that occurs away from the airport can be very relevant.
What caliber of person is the TSA attracting and retaining? How does employment with the TSA effect their employee's attitudes and values over time? Do people become less honest and law-abiding under the influence of TSA employment? I think these are valid questions. |

"Quality?!" Where?
Which one do you think I meant? |

There are good qualities and bad qualities.
Which one do you think I meant? "A man of quality." "Spend some quality time with the kids." ...et cetera. Such usage doesn't make any sense when commenting on the TSA, so I was wondering where you had seen "quality" in a blue-shirt. I haven't. |

Without modifiers, "quality" almost always has a positive connotation:

If I hand you a diamond you can observe the qualities of that item. They may be good or bad.
If you tell me you're introducing me to a quality employee, and they're wearing a smurf shirt and a tin badge, I'm going to be wholly confused. |

I believe your post is a violation of the TOS, because you are discussing moderation in the forum. Now, I disagree with many portions of the TOS, including this one. But, to the extent you are attempting to imply that you feel the moderators have failed to take correct action, I believe the current TOS requires you to communicate with them directly.

OT, but since you mention it, On several occasions, I've looked for a link to contact the moderators in the forum and haven't been able to find one. The only mention I ever see of this is if one of them posts and "moderator" is mentioned along with other stuff under the user name. How does one do this correctly?

I'm not surprised this happened...story time!
At one point our daycare provider had a smurf's kid in her care. We went to a birthday party for this kid, and I saw first hand how the smurfs are in private. Basically, they all want to be cops, and since most of them would never be qualified, they took a job with the TSA. They were talking about one guy who actually qualified and got a job with some local PD. When he showed up you'd have thought a celebrity entered the room. They were just short of hosting him onto their shoulders and parading him around the room. We left shaking our heads, and thankfully they moved not too long after that. They had their stories about screwing around with passengers and how they made them do X. This was before the mass groping. I forgot the details of the stories, I was not thrilled and just wanted to go. In fact, I spent more time with the kids at the party, as they seemed to be more intelligent. He did always brag that the checkpoint he was assigned was consistently the fastest at DFW. I figured they were just letting anything and everything go by to keep up with their stats. |
Rule number one: Impersonating a law enforcement officer is a crime.
Rule Number two: Do not violate rule number one: To LTSO Michael Mazzone at EWR: Read both rule number one and rule number two. Oh wait, you already violated both rules so never mind and enjoy facing the consequences you putz. |
