Advice Is Welcome
Hi I'm new to the forum. This summer I will be flying direct on Delta from Detroit Metropolitan Airport to New York-LaGaurdia and I'm 15. Iwill be flying without Delta unnaccompanied minor service. Any advice on how to get through security quickly and without a problem would be welcome. I note to forum members that I have not flown since June 2009 and it was accompanied by my father. I also would like some help at LaGaurdia security.

As a minor you can get a parent to accompany you to the gate. I would suggest going that route. I believe your parent will have to request the gate pass from the airline. Similar on the return.
As for security, remove as much metal as possible and secure it in your carry on. And look for a line without a NudiScope.

Here's my tip:
As a mother of teenagers, I know how much they like to wear sweatshirt-type "hoodies."
We always find a line that is the WTMD, if possible. Take the hoodie off and put in your bin to go through the x-ray. If you don't have metal, and don't have "bulky" clothing, you are less likely to get chosen for the grope (pat-down) after walking thru the WTMD.
We recently flew with my teenagers, and altho they grumbled about taking off their hoodies, none of them were singled out for a pat-down.
