A380 Engine Issues?

With all the problems associated with A380 engines, do you think maybe they should just be put out to pasture? It's starting to look like they're more trouble then they're worth. What do you think?

It's a new bird, still in the shakedown period. RR has some issues they need to look at and quickly. Biggest problem with them is when they go off line, it becomes a logistical nightmare.

"More trouble than they're worth"? I understand Qantas bought their A380s for AUD 332 million each. I'm confident they won't be putting them out to pasture any time soon.

Only one aircraft has had major issues. The rest of them have been temporarily taken out of service to check on these issues. I don't think that they should be put out to pasture. How many Boeing 7xxs has issues within the first few years of being released?

The DC10 had many problems when it first came out too, but it went on to a long and successful run after it's initial growing pains.

Perhaps 747s should be put out to pasture

Or the 787 should be scrapped
