That was deliberate on my part, the discussion of which is better suited for OMNI.

Oh, maybe I shouldn't have answered other then. I realize my mistake...

Male, 34 (for a few more days, at any rate), and while I've been very bothered by the security theater in general, compared to having gotten a laptop search at the border once, or the ongoing annoyance of the war on liquiids, the nude-o-scopes barely register.

Then again, I have very little modesty.

It's my pleasure. :D

No Thanks, I'm British!

(Sorry, *someone* had to say it!)

Huh...

Interesting! Vast majority here is male: 110 to 39

I'm still inclined to think that males may be more prone to protest the Nude-o-scopes. The mostly-female forums I frequent (say that 10 times fast) are overwhelmingly aligned with the "anything for safety" crowd.

I've had a couple of conversations with (male) friends who've traveled recently. One said "I don't care if they see my junk" the other (a psychologist) was nearly as dismissive towards AIT though both also have a negative (security theater) attitude towards TSA in general.

Dear Rosemary T,

Male - 34 - single - no kids - travel weekly or more.

I was only selected once, it was today, I opted out, and I posted my experience.

I think your poll is interesting and I think another interesting topic would be geographic location. But then, you could probably think of dozens of other factors as well which might influence a person's decision as to whether they will or will not opt out.

I will say this - as an American who grew up in the suburbs of NY and now lives in Texas, I am astounded at the number of people out there that believe everything they read in the newspaper over morning coffee or see on the TV news for 15 minutes before going to sleep.

Their lives consist of what football game is coming up, who won on American Idol, where to buy Jimmy Choos for half off, or the way Mrs. Dagmeier looked when she took her trash out in the morning.

The government uses this to their advantage, the same way leaders of cults and certain religious groups use ignorance to their advantage. The less they know, they less they care, the less they will resist. NO. NO. and NO.

To all of you out there with pride, dignity, intelligence, and enthusiasm, it is up to us to start making changes NOW. (See more recent threads for plans for educational days at airports around the US).

PS - Mrs. Dagmeier did look pretty bad this morning. :D

Female here. I NEVER go through the NoS, but my husband will. I've tried to explain, but not sure he quite gets it even though I am so adamant about our privacy.
