Diffrent cultures

Have TSA even thought about that one thing in USA could mean something different in another country?
Probably not.
My impression is that most TSA workers only speak english . And a lot of them have probably never been outside USA.

I have asked people in Europe what they would do if they are told to take off their clothes in a screening.

Their first reaction is No Way. But then they said if they are "forced" they would do it just to get on the plane.

But what does that mean take of you clothes? In Sweden it means ALL your clothes. Not just down to your undies.

And after what I understand in USA it means down to your undies.
And after reading on this website, it seems to me that the people who do what they are told , can get in trouble for it. Just because it means something else in their country.

So how is TSA going to handle all these different cultures. Also a lot of people dont speak english or/and have limited understanding of the language.

I have also heard that people will embaress TSA before they get embaressed.

Meaning that they will strip on the spot.

TSA is in for a lot of trouble and problems.

The TSA is not a new concept. Haven't they been screening people of all nationalities and cultures within the US and entering / leaving the US for nearly a decade now? If this were a major issue wouldn't we be inundated with naked Swedes roaming the airports of the US?

Most Americans (not just TSA) rarely encounter foreigners - should we be wary of similar encounters with foreign citizens in shopping malls, delis, etc. around the US?

I think that you totally missed the point I was trying to make.

We are talking about people landing and leaving USA. Not people out in the streets or in the mall.

All what I wrote was regarding to the new rules with "nude" scanners, enhanced pat- downs and so on.

Before all what has changed the last year there were not any major problems with TSA about privacy. Most countries had som what similar rules. That has changed to the worse in USA.
I am talking what is happening now. Not what did or didnt happen in the past.

No body is going to roam the airports. We are talking about the new rules and what they mean to different cultures.

i have also read on internet that citizents have "helped" out TSA agents doing just that. Taking off their clothes in public. And they have gotten trouble for it.

I do travel at least once a year. And I dont like the new rules. I also dont want to get in trouble and I am just trying to understand what certain things means here in USA.
Since it is so different what I read/hear about the rules/laws in Europe.
