Advice Please!

Can anyone advise me which South American Country on the Atlantic has the easiest entry procedure for an EU resident? I have heard nightmare stories about Brazil.I would be departing from Cape Verde.

What nightmare stories from Brazil? No visa required for most EU countries and tourists.
