Nude-o-scope image

Not sure if this has been posted here or not...

I came across a slideshow from the San Jose Mercury News about the new SJC terminal. In it, the photographer has an image of the nude-o-scope screen, from the TSA screening room. This is the first time I've seen what the image looks like from an independent, non-TSA source.

If you view the image in full screen, you'll get a pretty good idea of what TSA sees when you go through one of these stupid machines. I'd love to see the photographer's full take from this part of the tour...

Link is here. Go to image 16, and view at full screen.

Screen grab is HERE

Do you have another link to the story? I can't seem to get it to load..

Interesting looking at the picture of the stimulation room screen:

geeze

That is weird. That software is not at all like the kind that I am trained on. That is not to say that it is not real but to just have the picture posted is a violation of the things that are supposed to be in force about the machine.
1. No photographic equipment in the room
2. No capturing of the images.

So by allowing this to take place it is a violation. On the other hand the image is lacking a lot of information and appears to be stock.

It's possible that different types of machines use different displays...I don't think this is a fake or stock image. That being said, I think it's a tsa volunteer inside the box.

Whomever it is on the screen, it's the largest photo I've seen of the image the TSA sees.

Given the promise of confidentiality, I think that is not an image of a real person. Probably something the manufacturer ships with it.

I'm willing to bet some very safe money/miles that you cannot substantiate this statement in any way, shape or form.

To quote Dr. McCoy: "What the Klingon has said is unimportant, and we do not hear his words."

Circumstantial evidence. More than you ever need, Spiff.

Actually, I'd like some real evidence, please.

Now, why is a photo of a male volunteer standing in the death-ray machine shown and yet the photo of the image is of a female?

I think I know the answer: because if they showed a picture of a male, then the lie that genitals can't be seen with any clarity is made known to all.

This is an image that I have not seen before that I can recall so perhaps it was "real time" at SJC.

Something else that is never addressed by those complaining about WBI, myself included, and the clarity of the images is the fact that the viewer can zoom in on an image to "check things out." I wonder how often that happens when a particularly good looking human specimen goes through WBI.

Sometimes the newsies will take pics they aren't supposed to on media tours or PR visits. That has happened with many agencies in the past, I am sure it has happened with TSA. I have seen images like this before, and I have seen the grainier images as well - that may be a difference in the systems (XBS vs MMW), I am just not sure.

Actually the print under the picture of the female states that it is an image of a woman. Kinda hard to present the case that they are trying to sell the "nothing is visible" angle when the picture clearly states it is a woman.

You completely missed the point of my post. What else can one expect of those who rush to defend the TSA.

+1

Heh...heh...in addition to seeing the cell phone on her hip (that you don't need a WBI for), we can also see that she's wearing a thong.

I've seen the actual image produced by one of these machines during an actual screening of a real passenger, and it is a LOT more descriptive and detailed than the one in the article.

What you are seeing is her shin bones and patella.
