Pat down is a joke

I was boarding a flight at ICN last week and was given a pat-down in the Jetway. On long international flights I wear a pair of pants that have cargo pockets. I prefer to keep my wallet, phone, etc. in there so that I'm not sitting on them for 15 hours. So anyway, the "security" agent pats me down, feels the items in my cargo pockets, and waves me along.

What was the point of patting me down if you're not going to investigate the two solid items you felt?

I'm really growing intolerant of the Security Theater. Either do something that actually enhances security, or leave me alone. Frankly, leaving me alone would enhance security, by allowing the agents to focus on actual threats.

Would it have made you feel better had they strip searched you?

I do know what you re talking about, I was pulled aside at the gate in NRT. They did not unzip all the pockets in my back pack. They looked cursorily in pockets they unzipped and felt a few unzipped pockets very superficially and left the others alone. I know it was useless. Any more thorough search would have been useless too, but definitely more annoying.
