EWR BDO Chuckle

Story

According to this story, it's "routine" to need to re-train 75 BD folks, and ship in another 75 while the nine-day process is happening.

Uh-huh.

Someone got caught with their pants down.

I read this too. It said that they were "retraining" them because they were working on tasks other than behavior detection. Hmm... that sounds like a manager's staffing problem. It sounds more like the BDO's were doing something wrong.

Due to the extreme skill level and training needed to be a BDO does anyone know what their salary is compared to a regular TSO?

What a bunch of BS.

Reminds me of the joke about the roadworks crew that got to their site and realized they'd left all the shovels back at the depot. They called the manager for advice, and he said he'd send them out. The foreman asked "What are we supposed to do until the shovels arrive?" and the manager replied: "I guess you'll just have to lean on each other instead!"

That is thousands if one considers similar numbers for other international departures.

EWR, JFK, IAD, PHL, CLT, MIA, IAH, ORD, SFO, LAX, SEA, DTW, DAL.

These are just a few that I can think of without thinking.

And what would be the downside if those 75 just were not replaced while being retrained?

As long as they include the people who trained them.

Or skip the replacing and retraining completely while moving straight to discharge.

Unproven, wasteful program that serves no valid purpose.

Pretty much like the whole of TSA!
