25K in 6months Has Expired

Team,

I had an extremely long talk with Sprint the other day and they informed me that they would not honor in any form or fashion the 25k in 6 month offer. If you were told they would honor it, you were told in error. They said their system would catch the error and kick it out. Active programs are posted on the NW website.

Sprint Customer relations also visited this website and stated, "This site has no validity or connection with Sprint and should not be used as a reference."

Hope this helps in your search for points. Don't blast me, I am just the messenger.

i had signed up for the 25K in 6 months and was given the talk of 'the offer had expired long back'... they signed me up for another promo and then caused trouble even crediting those miles.

wrote to the FCC. sprint rather promptly made up the 25 K miles. i think they need to be taken to task. can get the email address at the FCC site.

I signed up for the 25K in 6 month offer back in Dec. They posted the first set, then nothing else. When I called they tried to convince me I was wrong and offered me 20K over 18 months. I fought them for weeks. It wasn't until I "cc'ed" them on the formal complaint I sent to the FCC and my state attorney general that they sent me an e-mail saying "we NEVER had such an offer" then went on to say since I was such a valued customer they would give me the 25K over 6 months anyway. You'd think they'd get the point of having a promotion "To Win Back Customers" (heck the offer was called the "Northwest WinBack" Offer. However, they want to play these stupid games. I plan on keeping them until the last of the miles are posted then Im canceling my long distance service outright. I found out you can use a costco phone card (ironically it's through SPRINT) that gives you 4.16 cents/minute rates, 24/7. No monthly minimums. No "basical service fee", no lies about great customer service. The initial card cost me $19.99 for 480 minutes and I can recharge it on my credit card (getting airline miles), so I think my days of being "misled" (and that's putting it nicely) by Sprint are over.

You can check out the Costco card on the internet (at Costco's homepage) or you can also try the SamsClub (ie: WalMart) card, I believe their rates are about the same and I think they go through MCI.

Another trick, put their 800 number and your pin number on two of your speed dial buttons (it makes calling a breeze).

The best Sprint offer that I could get today was 20K - - 5K after 1st, 4th, 8th & 12th months. CS rep said that 25K offer was no longer available, despite reports on an internet travel-related site.

All,

I just got off the phone to Sprint and signed up for something like the sprint 7 cent offer, which gave me a 2500 mile sign on bonus and 2500 miles after 6 months (no big deal). However, I got 2000 miles for signing up for a new service, and each additional service I added I got an additional 2000 miles. If you add a toll free number, you get 1000 miles after the 1st and 6th invoice. So I added 3 toll free numbers pointing at my cell phones and home number plus my home service.

The way I figure, I will get the following after the 1st invoice:

Home LD service: 2500 miles + 2000 mile bonus
Toll Free #1 - 1000 miles and 2000 mile bonus
Toll Free #2 - 1000 miles and 2000 mile bonus
Toll Free #3 - 1000 miles and 2000 mile bonus

Total after 1st invoice - 13,500 miles Northwest Airline miles http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

I'll keep you posted and let you know if they show up.

Ken

Well, wanted to post an update. I received the 5500 miles after the 1st month and just received another 2500 miles on August 1st, but nobody can find any record of a 2000 mile per service bonus that I was promised. Rather than fight for my missing 8000 miles I just switched to MCI so we'll see what they offer when they call me back.

With all the problems I've had getting miles from Sprint, I don't think I'll ever go back to them once I get my last 5,000 mile bonus.

I signed up for the 25K Northwest miles in 6 months back in April (I think) and I have received 5K so far for June & July. No problems yet (crossing my fingers).

I just signed up my wife for 20K for 12 months, but its too soon to tell what will happen. (5K per qtr.)

I hope everyone else gets the miles they have coming to them.
