MCI Miles Received!!

This morning I actually received the 5000 missing miles in my UA account!! Perhaps it had something to do with the letter I wrote MCI (w/copy to FCC) on 5/30. I had been telephoning since March with no results. Everyone out there who is owed miles, don't give up!! Keep calling and writing until you get what you were promised. Thanks to all who answered my post. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Congratulations Gretchen! It's good to see
someone getting MCI miles posted. I just
switched back and hope it does not take
letters and tenacity to receive the miles.

you are one of the lucky few. MCI called me today and asked me to re-up with them. i said not until my wife's miles post first.

it could be a while http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif

I just don't get it! Why is MCI....not to mention Sprint, giving people hard time for what they promised?? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
I just received a letter from MCI/AA in the mail yesterday, trying to woo me back by offering me 5,000 AA miles, plus $50 prepaid calling card, for their MCI Select 200 program (200 LD minutes for $9.95/month).
I honestly have to say I'm a bit tempted for this offer, since I'm already paying $4.95/month for AT&T and by the time I put in less than 30 minutes of phone calls, the whole total comes up to almost $10.
I've been with MCI before and luckily, I've had relatively good experience with them.
However, a second time does not guarantee a pleasant experience. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/frown.gif
My personal worst experience is with Sprint/NW. After all the letters and calls, I'm so sick of getting into the mess again. I'm just not ready for another session of counseling!!
Currently I'm with AT&T/CO. They have been treating me pretty nice...on-time mileage posting and all!

well, finally after SIX MONTHS of calling, waiting, and calling some more my wife received her 5000 mile MCI bonus. i had to convince America West to intervene (which they did despite not really "being policy) and within two days the miles were deposited.

don't hesitate to call the airline. they'll give you the runaround but be assertive and press the issue for them to intervene. after all, they have a contract with the LD carrier and should be involved when there are unresolved issues such as miles not posting.

I too just got the 5000 AA miles after 4 months and 4 phone calls. Maybe they are changing their act.

I was missing the last 1,000 miles of a promised 10,000 Delta mile bonus. I went into the Customer Service area of the web site, sent them an email with a description of the problem and my phone number (did not even have my MCI account number handy so did not enter it). Got an email the next day saying the problem was being forwarded to the promotion department. Following day got an email from the promotions department and the miles appeared in my Delta account. I was really impressed with how fast they handled this one.
