Lousy $15 Incentive to Switch
I just switched from AT&T to MCI, and eagerly waited by my mailbox for the check they usually send me to switch back. The good news is, the check came within a couple of weeks of the switch, rather than their customary six to nine months. Bad news is, the check was only for $15, rather than their customary $75 to $150. Netting out the cost of switching, that $15 translates into pretty close to zero. Do these guys really think that anyone is going to switch to AT&T for $15? Cripes, by my economic calculation that is the equivalent of between 1500 to 3000 frequent flyer miles, where 5000 is usually the minimum.
