Rainforest from Cuzco?

I am taking a trip next March in which I will be doing the Inca trail, and then going onto the Galapagos via Quito.

I have a few days in between (3-4), and I wondered if it is feasible for me to visit a rainforst with those days. I have found the information I am coming across difficult to interprete and I know it will still not be the ideal time of the year.

Any advice?

You can easily fly from Cuzco to Puerto Maldonado, and go to the Ro Tambopata. Check around for the Posada Amazonas lodge, they run excellent tours of three to four days.

Take a raincoat to Cuzco, March is likely to be rainy.
