Cusco Flying Weather around Christmas

Hello,

I’m in the early stages of planning a trip to SA around the Christmas holidays. Part of my trip would be flying from Santiago, Chile to Cusco.

I hear/read Cusco has heavy thunderstorms and rain in the afternoon at this time of the year. Does that impact flight delays? Are there very turbulent landings?

Theres a direct flight from SCL to CUZ that lands at 4pm, I’m just anxious that time is landing in the middle of a heavy thunderstorm. Would taking a morning flight from Lima be better?

Thanks.

I would take a morning flight from LIma. You have a lot more choices, conditions are better, and the flight is less likely to be cancelled than an afternoon one is.
