Seattle Brunch
What is a good place to take my better half for brunch? We will be staying in downtown Seattle and would like to consider a range of possible places.
Thank you in advance

If you are real tourists, the Space Needle is a longtime favorite for weekend brunch, when out-of-towners come. http://www.spaceneedle.com/restaurant.htm - I recommend getting reservations. In the summer, when the weather is almost always good, they book up very fast. Also, you get a free ride up to the top with your reservation. Warning: the food is neither great nor cheap. But the view can't be beat.

I like usoftie's idea of the tower but the food really used to suck and was way overpriced. I think it's getting better tho but he was being kind, imo.
Wild Ginger does this wonderful asian/french fusion thing. People rave about it and I do like it there for sure, a popular hit with our out-of-towners.
The Pike Place market is a neat area to hoof around, and the Dahlia Lounge is nearby and does great seafoody things. One of Tom Douglas' restaurants, he's a good cook.
I like the 5-spot if you are into a more 'traditional' breakfasty brunch. Bar. This is on queen anne hill. A drive from downtown
And in my area of town, Saltys on Alki, is a more upscale restaurant with an awesome view of downtown and is close to the beach. Food is not incredible but I think better than the space needle.
My recommendation: go to pier 54 area, by the aquarium, ask where the WATER TAXI is, it leaves downtown on the :30 after the hour, and take this to west seattle. Walk the 1/2 mile or so to the East, to Saltys and have your brunch their looking at Elliott bay and downtown. Then take the water taxi back to downtown and resume touristy activities. (it leaves w. sea on the :00 of the hour) For $2.00 this is a neat way to see the bay and ride a cool fast boat. Or drive across the west seattle bridge to get there. Alki beach is to the west and a great people-watching spot as well.
Email if you want more specifics. And you should post your visit to the community board, and you never know how many of us you'll get to meet!
