Avatar Airlines

I discovered a potential new Airline called Avatar Airlines. Here is the website http://avatarairlines.com/ and right now it is waiting for FAA approval.

Found them last year and they had a different website I believe. Seems very sketchy.

Remember.... PEOPLExpress:2 crashed and burned. They got further than most other startups (like Baltia). Looks like the next one to succeed might be Eastern:2.

So they are now ordering 30 new 747's from Boeing, which will make them the only US airline with any 747's, let alone a full fleet.
The economics of larger planes is greater, so I have never understood why many airlines are going in the other direction.

To be clear, they made a press release saying they'd like to order 30 748s from Boeing, after they can raise some cash. Not nearly the same thing - to quote Gary Leff, "Boeing isn’t even willing to claim this despite not recording a single aircraft order in January".

Frequent point-to-point operations are what drive yield these days, both of which are strikes against large aircraft.

Only if you have enough passengers filling the seats at a high enough price, several times a day.
