You can expect Egyptair to lease additional aircraft for the season.
Currently, they have a Boeing 767-300ER and an A300 leased and I expect them to take on a few Boeing 747 as well. Not only is the Egyptian-KSA market huge during Hajj, but the number of expats coming back to Egypt for Eid is huge. MS will also serve the Africa-KSA market during Hajj and possibly some poins in Europe.
Schedule:
Week November 16th-November 22nd there are 20 nonstops between CAI and JED using a mixture of Boeing 777, A330, A320 and Boeing 737-500s and 8 nonstops from CAI-MED.
Week November 22st-November 28th there are 78 nonstops between CAI-JED (+1 via LXR) using a mixture of A321, A320, A340, A330, A340, Boeing 737-500, Boeing 737-800, Boeing 777, Boeing 767-300s, Embraer E70 even. Plus 43 CAI-MEDs using same mixture, including 777s.
Week November 28th-December 4th has 97 nonstops between CAI-JED and 36 CAI-MEDs
Also there will be increased flights from ALY and LXR and a few extra flights from CAI to places like DXB with big Egyptian expat communities.
For those flying on MS, expect frequent aircraft changes and op-ups. Hope they don't have too many delays but we warned that you arrive at the airport early than you would during non-Hajj in anticipation of any problems. Terminal itself won't be busier as the extra flights will operate from Cairo's Hajj terminal. If you're flying CAI-JED during this period check which terminal you'll be flying from
