"South African Airways has appointed former Unisys executive Kyrl Acton as chief operating officer, in line with its turnaround strategy, the airline said yesterday.
It said in a statement that Irishman Acton, who has a 25-year track record in the aviation industry, would join Africa's largest airline next week.
"Our mandate to ... Spencer Stuart, an international executive search firm, was clear. Find us an experienced airline operations executive with specific experience of having led significant airline operational and financial turnarounds," SAA chief executive Khaya Ngqula said."
