From April 1, Egyptair has one daily flight scheduled from JFK and two weekly from IAD. Does anybody have any insight into how likely this is to actually happen?

Close to zero IMO. Most mathematical models I've seen suggest about 4 to 6 months of interruption before there's herd immunity in the US.

Insight is one thing. 100% certainty is quite another. Does the OP expect anyone to state for certainty what will happen. Stock brokers and weather forcasters cannot predict with certainty - and they have lots of training and insight.

Dumb question.

Dumb response, given that we do have certainty now — the flights were cancelled a week ago.

So why did you ask? Hindsight is 20-20, but no certainty for the future predictions/opinions.

Because, before the flights were cancelled, I was trying to assist a potentially vulnerable individual to make it safely home to his family.

Case closed. I guess your "potentially vulnerable individual" did not fly? Or did you find another flight that actually flew?

Thanks for asking! We got him home via London on the last flight out.
