Anyone ever receive one of these E-mails?

Stayed at the Hardrock Hotel in Orlando this past Fall, a Lowes Hotel.

Has anyone on this forum ever gone to one of these meetings? I wouldn't mind going if it is legit, but I'm a cynic and have learned to expect the worst (Timeshare sales pitch!?!?).

This is the e-mail I received (they probably got my e-mail address from Lowes Members First loyalty program)

Dear Salvatore S.,

My company, J.R. Research Inc., is an independent research firm based in New York and Los Angeles. We are conducting a study among selected business and leisure travelers like yourself, on behalf of the Loews Hotel Group. Our client's purpose is to understand how travelers perceive the process of hotel selection, and the factors that influence their decision in making hotel selections.

You were hand-picked from a short list of key travelers who have visited one of our properties, and whose opinions we felt would be important to the success of our study.

We are conducting a round table discussion group in New York at 6:30pm on the evening of March 1st, and would be grateful for two hours of your time to participate. A light buffet will be served, and in appreciation for your participation, you will receive an honorarium of $200.00 to compensate you for you time. Please be assured that this is strictly a research study, and your opinions will be treated as confidential.

If you would like to join this discussion, please call as quickly as possible so I may schedule you for this group, or I will call you to see if you are available to participate with us.

Looking forward to talking with you.

Sal740,

Sounds familiar. Check the Delta forum for something similar.

Sal - I have not received that notice, but I have received calls and e-mails regarding focus groups where I was paid $100-150.00 for a 2 hour session. This sounds like a front for a timeshare presentation.
