Ramada
I have an ancient,Red, Ramada Business Card...I assume an old loyalty card, although it's been many years since I stayed at one. My question is, that we will be staying for a long weekend wedding stay as guests in Toronto. Should I sign up to their current program or which airlines are locked in to Ramada , as I think I would be better off with miles ? Thanks.

RBC has been replaced with Club Ramada. You earn Club Ramada points, and you would need to spend $750 to earn the lowest Ramada reward (a $25 gift certificate), $1,000 to earn 1,000 frequent flyer miles.
Your wedding stay may not be points eligible,
"A member may accrue Club Points only in connection with his/her individual stay that he/she actually pays for. Individual stays do not include groups utilizing more than ten rooms, conventions, tours, contract rates (such as airline crew and preferred corporate rates), or the like."
Your RBC miles probably have not expired
"1Club Points which were formally RBC or Ramada Best Year points for members of these programs will not expire until June 1, 2004."
Quality of Ramada properties is ummm..inconsistent. Club Ramada is a pretty marginal rewards program.
Check to see if there is another hotel across the street or next door with a better frequent guest program!

If you have any points left in the Club Ramada account, it's time to use them up ASAP, as they will be converted 3:1 (1 new point for 3 CR points) into this new program.

Not much but FWIW - Ramada is also having a promo with MasterCard. If you stay two nights and pay with MC, you mail-in for a $10 MC debit card. Not sure of the end date, I think it is on the web site. I know it's slight off topic of points but thought you might want to consider it (as small as it is

And keep in mind that Club Ramada is going to be replaced shortly with a new (still not named) program that would include all Cendant properties (e.g., Days Inn, Travelodge, etc).

I haven't hear about this. Can you provide any details about the new program, such as when, etc.? Has Cendant made a public announcement? I've got 500,000 Club Ramada points, so it's quite important to me.</font>

I've received a letter from ClubRamada with the information I posted above. I'll see if I can still find it, and if found, I'll scan and e-mail it to you. </font>
