Chayote Lodge

Only 1 hour from San Jose and you're transported into the beautiful Naranjo county. The staff and owner (guide for Swiss Tours Costa Rica for 20+ years) are so friendly and offer a unique local experience you won't find in other tourist spots.

Beautiful decor modeled after the local coffee industry- this truly is the vision of the owner who has been in the travel industry for 20 years and made his dream a reality with this hotel. We went on the coffee tour, waterfall hike and took a cooking lesson. Our fantastic tour guide Jose who was extremely knowledgable and hilarious. He knew every bird, plant and crop and really allowed us a deeper look into his culture.

If you need a resort with five restaurants and constant entertainment, this isn't the place for you. If you want to learn about the Costa Rican culture, speak a little Spanish and mingle with locals, then come here!
