Help with European airlines - trying to get to Seychelles from USA

Help with European airlines - trying to get to Seychelles from USA
was searching on Orbitz - there are many flights from NYC to London or Paris, and then direct flights from those 2 to Seychelles. Priced at ridiculous 6K economy. However, when I search just flights from Paris to Seychelles, NO direct flights come up. How is this possible? Why it doesn't give me an option like this?
And the second question - many of my relatives from Moscow fly to vacation destinations like Seychelles or Maldives very cheap, ie no more than 500 bucks, they call it "charter" flights that are usually booked via travel agencies as a package with hotel. Is there such a thing in US?
Anywho,just trying to find something reasonable to fly to Seychelles, given that I have enough hotel points to stay in the resort.

Possibly look at traveling via Nairobi, or Italy... but I doubt either would be cheap. For fares ex Paris i'd try airfrance.com or the european versions of Expedia/ Lastminute.com etc.
Otherwise Emirates via Dubai or Qatar via Doha I think both visit the islands.
