New JFK-Barcelona service
Iberia Airlines of Spain will begin daily non-stop service from New York's John F. Kennedy airport to Barcelona on March 28, 1999. Iberia Airlines is the only carrier operating non-stop service between New York and Barcelona.
In order to showcase its new Business Class product, Iberia has introduced a special Business Class round-trip fare of $1,700 to Barcelona, and will continue to offer true First Class and Business service from New York, Chicago and Miami. This special introductory Business Class fare is valid from March 28 through June 11, 1999.

Iberia will also offer introductory fares to Barcelona and other European cities in economy class as follows:
From New York only:
* $248 round trip to Barcelona * $278 round trip to Costa del Sol, Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Alicante, Ibiza and Mahon.
* $328 round trip to Amsterdam, Berlin, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Munich, Stuttgart, Dusseldorf, Brussels, Dublin, Geneva, Zurich, Paris, Nice, Marseille, Lisbon, Oporto, Rome, Milan, Venice, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Helsinki, Oslo and Vienna.
Iberia Airlines is launching its new First and Business Class service enhancements, at a cost of over $50 million. Iberia has totally refurbished its cabins, improved the overall service with comfort level state-of-the-art equipment, increased seat pitch, satellite telephone communications, individual video
screens, PC connections, European cuisine with several menus and time selection choices, fast menus or self-service throughout the flight.
Effective April 1, Iberia Plus members will earn double points on Iberia's Business Class transatlantic service through December 31, 1999, as well as double points in all classes of service on the New York to Barcelona service through December 31, 1999.
Iberia Airlines, Europe's fourth largest carrier, operates 850 daily flights to 95 destinations worldwide, and provides service from 19 additional US cities to Europe via a code share agreement with American Airlines.
Restrictions: Seats are limited and may not be available on all flights. Fares are valid from March 28, 1999 to May 31, 1999 for Economy Class and through June 11, 1999 for Business Class and do not include airport taxes and facility fees of $48. For Economy Class only, there is a minimum stay of one Saturday night, maximum stay is 30 days, fares are valid for travel Monday through Thursday. Fares are non-refundable and other change penalty charges may apply. Airport departure and facility fees of approximately $48 to $80, depending on destination, are not included.
