Large number of cancellations in CSA today

Today a large number of cancellations of flights operated by CSA has been planned

HCC6440 Heraklion
HCC6570 Kefallinia
OK940 Kiev
HCC6290 Antalya
OK0976 Kosice
OK0782 Warsaw
HCC6974 Monastir
OK0794 Budapest
OK0026 Ostrova
OK0518 Berlin
OK0806 Buchapest

And that is only the flights till 18.00. Have a number of 737s and ATRs gone tech or is this a cost cutting operation? The Budapest flights seem odd from that perspective as since the demise of Malev there is not too much capacity into BUD.

Is that a flight where a passenger is asked to throw the dice in flight to determine whether the plane will land in BUD or OTP?

Seriously, flying OK seems increasingly erratic. One starts to wonder how long they can survive like that.

This time it doesnt matter - both BUD and OTP were cancelled - a coin with no winning side :-)

Sad news. I doubt this is due to equipment going tech - if it is, it must be at least 2-3 frames simultaneously. It could be of course that some mandatory fix has to be done before the months end, and they will not be able to do it during down time... but I fear something else is going on.

I don't think anything is "going on" except for what they have been doing for the last 6 months or so....cancelling flights with low loads.....

One of the main reasons (not being reliable anymore) why I have 0 flights on CSA this year.

The loads must be extremely low for that to work. Even with ~25-50 pax on a A320, the compensation would exceed the costs of actually operating the flight.
